On-the-rise L.A. producer Shlohmo is gearing up for a new release called Laid Out, and here’s its second single, “Don’t Say No,” which features a vocal track courtesy How to Dress Well’s Tom Krell. It’s a fantastic song: Krell’s always-impressive vocals, sometimes distorted and layered, play over Shlohmo’s intricate backdrop, richly layered with skittering percussion and woozy, droning waves. As good as Shlohmo is at producing instrumental tracks or ones with vocal samples, “Don’t Say No” shows his promise as a collaborator – hopefully we get to hear more of that on Laid Out. It’s out March 5.
