Simian Mobile Disco are sticking to what they do best their third leaked single from their upcoming record Unpatterns, “Put Your Hands Together,” but that doesn’t mean their creepy-sexy clubby jams are getting boring. “Put Your Hands Together” is over seven minutes of throbbing bass pulses and mesmerizing synth arpeggios that may be repetitive but is never uninteresting – the backbeat drops out and resurfaces through underwater layers; pitch-shifted vocals phaze in and out; different synth riffs circle each other and fight for promience. We’re especially attached to the last three or so minutes of absolute maximalistic, layered insanity. Unpatterns drops May 14.
