California PBR&B crooner Miguel has been in the game since 2010, but it took him until the Year of Emotional Indie R&B (that’d be 2012) to make a big splash and put together a proper debut record, Kaleidoscope Dream. It doesn’t drop until October, but you can sample six tracks thanks to the previews Miguel’s posted on Soundcloud. If you were a fan of The Weeknd’s House of Balloons or Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange, you’ll likely want to check this out - Miguel’s slick, minimalist beats, easy falsetto, and confessional lyrics come from a similar place. We’re loving the internet favorite “Adorn”, as well as “Do You…” despite its hilarious hook (“gonna do you like drugs tonight”). Check it out.
