We don’t know much about the new electro group Sunless ’97 – it’s a lady and a gent, Alice and Ed, whose SoundCloud page gives their location as the very broad “London, Mexico.” The duo makes music that, based on our first taste “Body Weather,” is halfway between Purity Ring and Battles, by which we mean as sexy as it is weird as it is maximalist and complex.

“Body Weather” is five minutes of impossible catchiness––it initially seems impossible that something so strange could be so catchy, but lo and behold. We’re loving those sax licks. Check it out.

Sunless ’97’s Body Weather / Azul single is out June 18th on Not Even. Pre-order a limited edition vinyl here.
