The Cure’s “Lovesong” seems like a popular track to cover these days amongst British musicians these days, and rightfully so. Adele recently included her own rendition of the song on her latest, and commercially worshipped, 21, and now fellow UK outfit The Big Pink have shared their interpretation of it on their newly formed Soundcloud page.

And in this case, interpretation is an understatement. The Pink take the jangly upbeat “Lovesong” and slow it down considerably, implementing distorted riffs, random synthesizers, autotuned vocals and a rather sinister ambiance. It’s not entirely a “new” song, but it does put the band back on the radar. Apparently they are working on the follow up to 2009′s A Brief History Of Love, stay tuned for more details.

It seems that you can also hear snippets of what might be new material on their Soundcloud page too.
