‘Tis the season when every band and their mother drops a Christmas single (or, if you’re She & Him, a whole album), and Las Vegas quartet the Killers are the latest to join those storied ranks.

Their fun and festive ballad is the playful “The Cowboy’s Christmas Ball,” which sounds, appropriately, like the soundtrack to the rollicking bar shootout in the holiday episode of your favorite Wild West TV show, as performed by a pop-country-informed iteration of Bruce Springsteen. The finished product’s catchy group singalongs, sweet background violins, and seasonally-appropriate overflow of jingle bells make it well worth a slot near the end of your Christmas playlist – whenever you think the spiked eggnog will kick in.

The single is out now on iTunes. All profits go to Product(RED) to help fight AIDS in Africa.
