After premiering a B-Side from their acclaimed sophomore LP, last year’s Big Echo, the morning benders frontman Chris Chu tweeted: “My only regret with Big Echo is that this wasn’t on it. I wrote it after watching Annie Hall for the 100th time.”
For those who aren’t familiar, Annie Hall is a wonderful and peculiar film from Woody Allen starring Diane Keaton, that took home several Academy Awards in 1978.
“Oh Annie” is as ditsy and romantically unnerving as the film itself, a piano and violin filled ballad which very well could have been used in the soundtrack thanks to Chu’s relevant, melancholic lyrics: “Annie, oh Annie, how can you go? I taught you everything you know.”
