The Japanese edition of Belong, an album that merged the Pains of Being Pure at Heart’s earlier affections for 80s pop rock and their new interest in 90s alternative (particularly Smashing Pumpkins), included a bonus tune called “Tomorrow Dies Today”. The tune has now finally made its way to this side of the world, available for your listening pleasure, streaming below.

It certainly sounds like a Pains track doesn’t it? Telling signs are the a dreamy ambiance and shoegaze tendencies, jangling guitar pop backed with heavy riffs and slight distortion, lead by Kip Berman’s soft harmonies. If you haven’t done so already, read our review of Belong here.
