Theophilus London may be fresh off collaborating with rising hip-hop star A$AP Rocky and hip-hop veteran and one half of OutKast, Big Boi, but he hasn’t lost sight of his indie roots – check out his new track, “Golden,” which was produced by George Lewis of Twin Shadow.
The end product sounds like a Twin Shadow track (new-wavey synths, echoing keyboard plinks, and motorik beats might conjure memories of Twin Shadow’s still-great 2010 release Forget), and it can be easy to mistake Theo for Lewis when he refrains from rapping in favor of some smooth, distorted R&B vocals.
