“Nothing’s Changed” has a sinister calm to it reminiscent of a Trent Reznor project. Indeed, the blend of quiet drum machines and violins would feel at home on the Social Network soundtrack. The tense anxiety that comes with trying to please too many people at once (and which pervades that whole film) seems to be have been on Tricky’s mind when he made the record. From the the announcement of his new album: ““I was trying to prove something to people, trying to do something to please other people and also myself at the same time, which is never going to work. … My last two albums, I thought they were good, but I realize now they weren’t. This album is about me finding myself again.” You can stream some of that emotional honesty below.

It’s the first single from the UK artist’s upcoming album, False Idols–due out May 28 on his own record label, False Idols.
