In 2008 when all girl art rockers Warpaint released their debut EP Exquisite Corpse, it was bound to receive attention from a rather large following due to the involvement of one John Frusciante, who produced the record. Though album highlight “Billie Holiday” — fun fact: Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer plays the drums on it — did not make the cut onto their full length The Fool, the girls are now including a revamped edition of the song on a deluxe edition of the LP, set to drop September 19th via Rough Trade.

The new version was mixed by Pulp bassist Steve Mackey, adds faint hints of bass and rhythms throughout, and shares a bit more of a polished feel to it. Check it below and see for yourself.
