If you’ve ever wished James Blake had an even prettier voice and wasn’t afraid to bust out some irresistibly weird, dancing-on-your-own synths once in a while, William Arcane might be the new buzzy London producer for you. Dude’s music, showcased in fine form on his new EP Permanence, pretty accurately fits the definition of his last name (“understood by few, mysterious or secret”) in the best way; it’s rich, lush, complex, and endlessly relistenable – each time you press play, new layers seem to peel away, revealing more smart production underneath.
