In his great New York Times profile, Dirty Projectors’ Dave Longstreth speaks on his dense, beat-heavy new album, Swing Lo Magellan. The Grey Lady is hosting an exclusive stream of the album, so listen to it as you read. Swing Lo Magellan is out next Tuesday, July 10th.
The day before, July 9th, the band will stream to the world their very special record release show at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg exclusively on The Bowery Presents Live channel on YouTube.
And in stranger, more awesome news, Dirty Prjectors have put together a short film, HI CUSTODIAN, directed by Longstreth, featuring album and alternate version of Swing Lo Magellan songs. The short film will premiere later this summer. You can watch the trailer below:
