David Byrne and St. Vincent’s collaborative record Love This Giant has been one of our most anticipated releases of the fall since we heard electrifyingly weird first single “Who,” and Byrne and Annie Clark started dropping interview hints about the record’s ubiquitous horn section. Now, ahead of its release date on September 11, NPR is streaming the record, and you can sample it. We’re still concluding these two were basically made to make a record together – Byrne and Clark each have a strange-but-brilliant taste for songcraft and lyricism that melds perfectly. Our first-listen favorites are the Clark-helmed “Ice Age” and the compellingly insane “I Should Watch TV.” Check it out.
