If you, like us, have been on the edge of your seat waiting for Youth Lagoon’s Wondrous Bughouse to drop since you heard amazing teaser singles “Dropla” and “Mute,” we’re psyched to tell you the wait’s over – courtesy NPR, you can stream the record now. Trevor Powers isn’t fooling around – the record’s ten tracks clock in at just over fifty minutes, and every one seems to contain its own small but fully actualized weird-pop world. From the creepy-but-tender moments of tracks like “Attic Doctor” to the intricate, tightly interwoven instrumentals of “Sleep Paralysis” and “Pelican Man,” you can almost see him building each song from the ground up. Long story short, Wondrous Bughouse more than lives up to our expectations; it’s an early front runner for one of our favorites of the year. Check it out.
