Here’s another amazing tune from Australia’s finest genre-collapsing pop alchemists Alpine, “Gasoline.” One listen to it and you’ll probably understand why we’re obsessed with this band – what with frontwomen Phoebe Baker and Lou James‘ interwoven, dueling vocals, that bubblegummy, hyper-catchy guitar line, droning ’80s-y synths, and those poppy drumbeats, if you can resist the effortless, danceable pop of “Gasoline,” check your pulse because you might be dead. If you’re not a zombie, join us in counting down the days until the release date of their debut A is for Alpine on May 21.
