Chromatics bandleader Johnny Jewel also heads one of this year's MVP record labels, Italians Do It Better - in short, he's a busy guy, but somehow he's found time to release a new autumn mix called Black and White, which features some of his favorite songs, remixes of other jams, and a cover of Joy Division and New Order classic "Ceremony" by Chromatics that features Glass Candy's Ida No on guitar as well. Tune in at about 21 minutes if you just want to hear the "Ceremony" cover (which is beautiful, with excellent guitar work by No, a dense, reverby electronic backdrop, and lovely vocals from Ruth Radelet making it one of the best covers we've heard of a much-covered song), but the whole thing is worth a listen. Check it out.
