This missive from continental Europe slipped through the cracks when it came out just before Thanksgiving. Wall of Death, a French three piece from what we can tell, are "ranked among the principal exponents of the new European post-psychedelic rock scene," according to their record label's website. I don't know who is doing this ranking, but I'd like to see what the rest of that scene has to offer based on this first taste. "Main Obsessions" is a dark but compelling seven minute track, replete with charmingly droned vocals and a slow, carefully built crescendo. He might not get a satisfactory answer to "Tell me Jesus, tell me Death, tell me why I'm in so deep," but Wall of Death seem quite comfortable wherever that is.
