Empire of the Sun will be releasing their first album since since 2008 this year, though, thanks to the ubiquity of Walking On A Dream, it doesn’t feel like it’s been five years since we last heard from the Australian duo. Ice on the Dune doesn’t have a release date, just a swanky trailer and cover art. If you’re in Austin this week, you can hear the album at a preview session on Friday (RSVP here). Check out the trailer:

They’ve also announced a few tour dates:

05-24 Joliet, IL – Electric Daisy Carnival
05-25 George, WA – Sasquatch! Music Festival
06-27-30 Rothbury, MI – Electric Forest
06-28-29 Kansas City, KS – Kanrocksas
08-08-11 Oxfordshire, England – Wilderness Festival

Charlotte Aitchison’s second LP is a warhead, a sonic sour bomb that conceals sneering attitude and caustic kiss-offs beneath an initially shimmering pop sheen.
