Peter Gabriel may not have scratched Feist’s back in 2010 when he released Scratch My Back, a compilation album of covers of songs by contemporary bands, but for the followup release, And I’ll Scratch Yours, she and Timber Timbre’s Taylor Kirk covered “Don’t Give Up,” from Gabriel’s 1986 record So. The original sees Gabriel singing alongside Kate Bush, so Feist and Kirk’s tandem vocals work perfectly, soft, intimate, and eerie over gorgeous and minimal instrumentals, as though they were performing from the front porch of their log cabin. Check it out – And I’ll Scratch Yours is out September 23.
