When did everybody start making teaser trailers for their new records? Frank Ocean’s the latest artist to drop a preview video for a new album called Channel Orange, coming July 17. You won’t learn much from the video: though it’s pretty cool, it’s inscrutably cryptic. We are digging the new, Egyptian-themed (yes) song it features – a fantastic, shuddering beat, sexy crooned lyrics from Ocean, you know the deal – but under two minutes doesn’t feel like long enough to give us a real taste.  The trailer does its job though – we can’t wait for July 17. Check it out.

UPDATE: Listen to Channel Orange first single “Pyramids” here. Def Jam has confirmed that Channel Orange is Frank Ocean’s debut album and it is out July 17th. Further details pending.
