M.I.A. took to Twitter to talk about her new album, Matangi. According to Maya, the album will be out in December, it sounds like “Paul Simon on acid” (yes!) and features no collaborations or “fame whore” producers. She elaborated that, “no one in the industry collected blows in the last 3 years as much as me, this is a fuck you to them and a thank you to you.” She also posted a cryptic, partially obscured list of track names (she later stated that the tracklist was not yet finalized). Maya goes on to say that “Bad Girls,” easily her best single since “Paper Planes,” will indeed appear on the album. Among the new tracks, “Come Walk With Me” is mentioned, something we heard a few months ago as a the sub-two minute demo.

M.I.A. “Bad Girls” Remixes with Missy Elliott, Azealia Banks and Rye Rye

Billboard reports that in the coming months, in an overreaching, multi-faceted, multi-media, Kanye-level move, Maya will also release an autobiography, a documentary and an art exhibit. Details on these projects are forthcoming.
