New Avett Brothers: “Live And Die”

This morning, The Avett Brothers decided to share “Live And Die,” the first single from their upcoming Rick Rubin-produced sixth album, The Carpenter. Expectations for this album are high––the band’s last outing, 2009′s I and Love and You, is remembered fondly for its sickeningly sentimental but beautifully crafted songs, and working with Rick Rubin is about the only respectable way to “go pop”––and “Live And Die” perhaps elevates these expectations a bit further, but at the very least it confirms them. The Carpenter is out September 11th.

The Avett Brothers will be on tour this summer, hopefully testing out some new material. Check out their dates below:
