I was checking out VW's myspace and the morning benders were in their top friends list... Immediately had "waiting for a war" in my head. They've gotten much better and i think Excuses is one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard. I could listen to the background vocals and Chris's voice with its sentimental crooning all day long. I'm swaying back and forth to the rest of the album. Excuses is one of the best songs I have ever heard. Ever. But the rest of the album has yet to really sink its teeth into my brain.My biggest frustration with this album is that Cold War is an AMAZING song and it cuts before even hitting 2 minutes. It sounds like he just gave up, not like the song is finished, and it gives way to Pleasure Sighs, which is hardly able to carry the torch Cold War so irresponsibly dropped.At least for now and to my ears, this album plays like the frustration of unrealized potential. I guess I’m still in stage 3. Excuses is one of the best songs I have ever heard. Ever. But the rest of the album has yet to really sink its teeth into my brain.
