Earlier today, rising r&b songstress Jhené Aiko shared a dark, stylish clip for her latest single, "The Pressure", and now we get even more from the singer with the official stream of her debut album, Souled Out.
The album's pace and atmosphere fits squarely within Aiko's wheelhouse, but what is surprising here is that the singer didn't tap her famous friends to appear on her album. Over the last couple of years, Aiko has come out of obscurity by the strength of her guest vocal work for (and sometimes rumored romantic links with) various popular rappers, including Drake, Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Childish Gambino and J. Cole. These are names that all but guarantee heavy radio play and some amount of critical acclaim, but Aiko has opted for scant, low-key guests like Cocaine 80s, Common and Namiko & Miyagi.
The twelve-song effort is streaming in full over at the still insufferable iTunes Radio. It streets September 9.
