Owen Pallett's been busy since 2010's Heartland, as a pop critic, film scorer, and more, but In Conflict, now streaming a week in advance of its May 27 release date, is his fist full-length record since then, and it's worth the wait. Synthesizing Pallett's knack for pop songwriting and orchestral composing and featuring help from Brian Eno (!) and the Czech FILMharmonic Orchestra, it's a fascinating listen. We especially dig those moments when Pallett figures his own falsetto vocals over meticulously composed, sweeping electronic backdrops, as on "Song for Five & Six." Check it out below via NPR.
Stream the fourth full-length from the brilliant Canadian pop composer.
