Girls Names

"Pittura Infamante" takes its name from a style of painting from Renaissance era Italy. Such paintings were not actually considered works of art, but rather portraits meant to humiliate their subjects, who were typically thieves or criminals for which no legal action was pertinent. They would be depicted upside down, or sine other compromising stance. I can't tell though if this new Girls Names track is supposed to be defaming anyone though, or why they used the name at all. The lyrics are made hard to discern, by way of lovely indifference and reverb. The whole track has a grand, almost psychedelic rock feel to it that seems to seek some sort of catharsis.

It really makes us want to hear how it fits into the rest of the album, which is out February 18 on Slumberland. It's called The New Life.
