For a song as catchy and irresistibly friendly as “Make Time,” you wonder why New York's up and coming Cults are not including it on their debut full length. The duo of Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion (a couple, btw) have been getting rave reviews amongst the blogosphere, particularly here on PMA, since they dropped the gorgeous lo-fi pop anthem, “Go Outside” last year. Since then, they've only released a handful of other tracks (“You Know What I Mean,” “Oh My God” stand out), each one getting a respectable amount of recognition.
“Make Time” was just released on iTunes, and bears that already familiar Cults sound: Follin's slightly distorted vocals and a vintage doo-wopish beat that's fun to listen to. The duo's forthcoming self-titled debut is produced by Shane Stoneback (Vampire Weekend, Sleigh Bells) and comes out on June 7th via Columbia. Pre-order it here.
