English rock heroes Kasabian are back with a new album and if the first single, newly released “Switchblade Smiles,” is any indication, it's going to be absolutely epic. After premiering the song on BBC Radio 1, DJ Zane Lowe claimed it's “a bold statement, the sound of people marching into oblivion.” He's not far off.
Of course Kasabian have been supplying us with hard hitting tunes since their debut in '04, but the boisterous use of synthesizers and electronic reverberation here is amped to levels they hitherto have not attempted. Blended with noisy guitar riffs and Tom Meighan's angry vocals, it's destined to be a smash. Stream it below; Velociraptor! drops in September via RCA/Columbia.
