After a decade-long dry spell in new Aphex Twin music, it's now seemingly raining from the sky. Richard D. James dropped Syro last year, then a ton of new music in an interview, then announced a new EP, Computer Controller Acoustic Instruments Pt 2, which is coming out tomorrow. In advance of that, he's shared one track from the EP, "Diskhat ALL Prepared1mixed [snr2mix]," which, despite its esoteric title, is a catchy, accessible listen, laden with shuffling, layered percussion, deep bass tones, and brilliant synth figments just eluding your grasp. You'd probably have to listen to this one at least twenty times to truly grasp the depth of its layers, but that's the best thing about it. Check it out while you wait for the rest of the EP.
