When Sacramento-based producer Lee Bannon first came out, his music reminded me, in some ways, of Clams Casino. However, the further Bannon progressed, the more versatile he became. Rather than excelling at one particular genre, Bannon's been creating tracks that encompass a variety of musical styles, from drum and bass to hip hop/trap to electronic. On his latest, "MFS - 1" from his forthcoming EP, Main/Flex, he enlists Hak from Ratking to provide a few vocals on a progressive beat-filled jam that sounds like it samples Sarah McLaughlin's "Silence" (or am I crazy?). Hear it below; Main/Flex drops on November 4th.
