By the end of 2013, Syracuse lo-fi punk rockers Perfect Pussy had earned themselves a formidable reputation as a band to watch out for in 2014, and thus far, they've seemed to fulfill on that promise, releasing an excellent debut LP in Say Yes to Love. Since then, they've been demonstrating their keen abilities as a cover band, reinterpreting the likes of Bruce Springsteen, and now, Björk's former band, Sugarcubes. With their take of 1992's "Leash Called Love," PP frontwoman Meredith Graves does the unimaginable in reinterpreting vocals from one of the most versatile and talented singers of our generation, not to mention successfully reintroducing the song as a raw, hardcore punk jam. "Leash Called Love" will appear on a new split 7" single with Joanna Gruesome, backed with a new song called "Adult World (The Secret)." Drops later this year via Slumberland/Captured Tracks/Fortuna Pop, but you can hear it below in the interim:
