In terms of high-concept compilations in 2014, first we got that space-inspired LP, now we're going a little less cosmic with Body of Songs, a collaborative record from a wide array of artists about the functioning of the human body, inspired by medical science. Bat for Lashes' contribution, "Skin Song," is our first taste, and it sees Natasha Khan craft a woozy, minimal backdrop for her soaring vocals as she meditates on reading her history through her scars and skin marks, concluding with "my body's an old, good friend of mine." It's a great listen, especially if you need to hear a little body positivity this morning. Check it out.
