Freddie Gibbs and Madlib share "Shame," the second single from their upcoming collaboration album. The soulful track showcases Madlib's prodigious, J Dilla-esque talent as a producer. It also doesn't hurt that he's working with one of the most deft young rappers around; Gibb spits dexterous bars and makes it all seem way too easy.
Singing on the hook is BJ the Chicago Kid, who compliments Madlib's fervent backdrop perfectly. It's another successful collaboration for the kid, who can now add MadGibbs to a growing list of collaborators, which already includes the likes of Kanye West, Rick Ross and Mary J. Blige. He can really blow up if he differentiates himself from fellow crooner and shooting star Frank Ocean.
The Shame EP is out now, it includes the title cut, another song named "Terrorist" as well as both instrumentals and a cappellas. Madlib also throws in a couple bonus beats. Buy it at Stones Throw.
