As though they hadn't already released one of our favorite records of 2014 in the form of Sunbathing Animal, Parquet Courts have up and recorded another one - but there's a twist. They'll release Content Nausea next month under the name Parkay Quarts, and it was apparently mostly recorded only by lead songwriters Andrew Savage and Austin Brown in two weeks on a four-track tape machine, with help from friends Jef Brown of Jackie-O Motherfucker on sax and Bob Jones of Eaters on fiddle. It includes this song, "Uncast Shadow of a Southern Myth," the album's closing track, which sees Savage delivering some of his best weirdo-Americana storytelling yet over a refined musical backdrop. We're psyched to hear what else these guys have to offer - Content Nausea is out November 11th.
From an upcoming LP as Parkay Quartz, Content Nausea.
