Sam Smith Money on My Mind

It's easy to forget that we were first introduced to the delicate, heartbreaking voice of Sam Smith through a stomper on Disclosure's fabulous Settle LP. While he's taken to performing tender slow jams since his starmaking turn in Disclosure's "Latch," Smith sets his gaze once again on the dance floor with "Money On My Mind," the track which is meant to be his solo debut single. (Which, as you can imagine, is labelspeak for "single we're going to actively shove down Zane Lowe's throat.") "Money" wasn't produced by Disclosure, but it could've been (Two Inch Punch holds the production honors here), what with that ebullient snaps and claps, that very British drum shuffle that threatens to trip over itself throughout the song's brisk, radio-ready three minutes.
