We've never entirely understood what the point of making snippets of songs available before their release, but Amazon and The Strokes didn't ask our opinion before making Comedown Machine available entirely as thirty second clips. So here's our snippet review of the snippet album.

Julian Casablancas still sounds like Julian Casablancas, the songs express different moods, the guitar work sounds like The Strokes, there's a bit of annoying poppy synth going on in "One Way Trigger," Casablancas sounds a bit less like Casablacas on "50/50" because of the distortion, and the "Slow Animals" snippet sounds like Pinback for a bit.

There you go, Amazon, The Strokes' PR and now Pretty Much Amazing have prodded your pent up desire to consume new Strokes music. Go work yourselves into a frothing fury prior to its March 26 release, as I just have. It's a good time.
