Band of Horses, led by the bearded Ben Bridwell, will be asking people all across the U.S. if there’s a ghost in their house this year. Their most recent album, Cease To Begin, was easily one of 2007’s best, and their live show is consistently hyped up. Click on for Band of Horses’ early 09 tour dates, and check if they’ll be playing anywhere near you (The June 11th Carnegie Hall acoustic performance should be particularly great). The Dodos are a two-piece band out of San Fransisco, California, who create beautiful, hypnotizing songs and beats. The hooks are catchy and memorable, and the sound is different and unique. The band tends to clash styles of bands we’ve heard before and turn them into something fresh- you can’t help but think of Band of Horses, Panda Bear, and Animal Collective when you are listening to the Dodos. Still, I’m not a huge fan of Panda Bear or Animal Collective, but still find myself transfixed by this new band’s songs. Their cd, Visiter, has received tons of praise, notably from Pitchfork, and is available now.
You can check out a few songs (my personal favorite is “Fools”) and tour dates on their MYSPACE.
Then comment on what you think of this new “buzz band!”

Hey, I have noticed that the amount of emails of people requesting songs has gone up, drastically. Luckily I tagged the emails of requests (thank God for Gmail) and took some time out today and found as many as I could. To everyone who has emailed me, hope you enjoy your music, have a great day! If you need help in looking for a specific song, don’t hesitate to email me, or leave a comment below.

Its kind of sad, isn’t it? Yet another summer has come and gone, but what a summer it was. The wind, once again, is drawing us closer to ripping that box in the corner of our wardrobes, with “Cold Clothes” scribbled across it in black marker. All I’ve got to say is, bring it!

Okay, so I totally stole this idea from Can You See The Sunset From The Southside (amazing blog, btw). I am going to post tons of my favorite pop-punk songs that tend to make me happy. I will keep this up for as long as I want to, or until I run out of songs. My mission here is to prove that pop-punk makes you happy! It really does. I shall prove it, even if it takes me 100 mp3s. Hey sorry for the massive lack of updates! School, work, and life in general have gotten in the way, I don’t expect this to change anytime soon. Huge shout out to the people who keep on coming back! Here is a large update of Pretty Much Amazing’s favorite tracks released/ leaked over the passed few weeks.

GIMME MORE – Britney Spears is back y’all! It ain’t the best track ever but FUCK — ITS BRITNEY BITCH! I must’ve played it 200 times already! I must admit, I was a bit skeptical about Ms. Spears’ comeback, but now I see that there is hope. If Britney can pull this off, maybe I can finally cure World Hunger or AIDS. Hmm… Anyway, another track off of Spears’ comeback has leaked (Cold As Fire), no recommendations there folks, stick to ‘Gimme More’. UPDATE: Hot fake ‘Gimme More’ Remix featuring T.I. available here.

PMA has been gushing about KANYE WEST > 50 CENT for a while, and I still believe Kanye kicks ass. Make sure to grab a copy of Graduation September 11th.
