Lil Wayne ‘No Ceilings’ Mixtape – Free Download [OFFICIAL VERSION]

Lil Wayne No Ceilings Mixtape Free Download [OFFICIAL VERSION] listenLil Wayne might be heading to jail, but that won’t stop him from spewing out monster mixtapes. I’m thinking this will be one of the last proper mixtapes we’re getting from Weezy in a while, so make sure you grab it. No Ceilings features recycled beats by Jay-Z, Black Eyed Peas, and even Lady GaGa/Kid Cudi/Kanye West. Major props to HustleGRL for the mad artwork for No Ceilings.

UPDATE: 2dopeboyz says: here is the official version of No Ceilings, featuring four new joints and an overall higher sound quality.

UPDATE2: No official tracklist (order wise) yet. smh… I swear this tape has been such a hassle haha! Tomorrow, the FINAL one will be available. Until then, just enjoy the music haha.

Learnalilgivinanlovin’

Learnalilgivinanlovin listen
Gotye. I’ve been urged to blog about Wally De Backer’s music for a while now. Don’t you dare ask me why I haven’t. Maybe I thought you weren’t ready for this? Maybe I simply kept forgetting to?  Well whatever the reason, Gotye’s music has remained, for the most part, a nicely kept secret. Last year, this tune, “Learnalilgivinanlovin’” was released in various parts of the world, but garnered very little exposure for the young Australian artist.

Luckily, Backer will receive his very first US release with a 7″ single for “Learnalilgivinanlovin’.” It will be backed by a remixed by Passion Pit. Hopefully that will certainly entice people to go out and listen to Gotye. It will be released via Neon Gold on August 17th. It only costs $5. Buy it here.

from Learnalilgivinanlovin’ 7″ (2009)

Bonus: Gotye – Heart’s A Mess
from Like Drawing Blood (2006)

and the rest of the songs (Au Revoir Simone, The Big Pink, et la) that kept me company on a lonely, scenic drive. Continue reading →

Black Eyed Peas – I Gotta Feeling

Black Eyed Peas I Gotta Feeling listen
“I got my money/Let’s spend it up/Go out and smash it/Like Oh My God/Jump off that sofa/Let’s get get OFF”

I personally hate the Black Eyed Peas’ official second single for The E.N.D., and I’m only posting this up to ask if ANYONE enjoyed this. This song reminds me of The Lonely Island’s “Like A Boss” but sugar-coated for the summer season. Listen to this train wreck after the jump. Continue reading →

Black Eyed Peas – Imma Be

Black Eyed Peas Imma Be listen
The Black Eyed Peas’ “Boom Boom Pow” has been sitting comfortably at the No. 1 spot of the US singles charts for the last 6 weeks. Taking a look at the iTunes Top 100 (it’s still at No. 1), I don’t think it has anything to worry about anytime soon. The only real competition it has is the next American Idol. This Wednesday, Adam Lambert or Kris Allen will be crowned this year’s Idol and their Idol winning song will sell loads this week and next. Taking into account that “Boom Boom Pow” was a bought 215,000 times in the last week alone, I’m guessing a Lambert or Allen win will knock it out of the number spot on iTunes. Though that’s hardly a threat to “Boom Boom Pow” and its nearly secured No. 1 spot.

To be perfectly honest, the only valid threat it has is the Black Eyed Peas’ follow-up single, “Imma Be.” The new single was made available through UK iTunes as a free download when you pre-order BEP’s upcoming album, The E.N.D. With proper radio promo, I predict a high first digital sales week for “Imma Be” when their new album is available on iTunes (June 9th). Maybe high enough to knock “Boom Boom Pow” out of the penthouse. Listen to “Imma Be” after the jump Continue reading →

Passion Pit – The Reeling (Calvin Harris Remix)

Passion Pit The Reeling (Calvin Harris Remix) mp3
It’s no secret that I’ve been somewhat, mildly obsessed with this sweet little Cambridge band, and I can’t wait to listen to their debut full-length Manners. In the mean time, aural goodies keep popping up left and right. The latest of which is Calvin Harris’ fuzzy, dance-floor remix of Manners‘ first single “The Reeling.” More remixes like this and I’ll be one happy camper. I actually can’t wait to hear some posh European remix of my current on-repeat hang-up, “Moth’s Wings.”

Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Style (ft. Kid Cudi)(Zuper Blahq Remix)

Black Eyed Peas Boom Boom Style (ft. Kid Cudi)(Zuper Blahq Remix) listen
[rating:74/100]
Warning: You’re about to see the music chart geek side of me
This is not so much a remix, as it is an entirely fresh(?), independent thought, or what I’m calling “Boom Boom Pow, Pt. 2.” Think of Usher’s “Love In This Club.” It sat at the number one spot for a couple of weeks, what did he (and his label) do? He recorded “Love In This Club, Part II” with two sure-fire chart-hitters Beyonce and Lil Wayne (fact: “Love in This Club, Part II” peaked at number 18 on Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart).

I can’t imagine why this version of “Boom Boom Pow” wouldn’t be will.i.am & co.’s creative way to make sure “Boom Boom Pow” stays in the charts for as possible to maximize, exploit, and inflate possible first-week album sales for their upcoming LP, The E.N.D. It goes without saying that this remix will do exceptionally well in urban and rhythmic radio formats (the same formats that helped T.I. take control of the first two spots on the Hot 100 for weeks with “Whatever You Like” and “Live Your Life”). It’s also notable that Kid Cudi’s “Day N Nite” is currently sitting at No. 6 on iTunes, and “Boom Boom Pow” is sitting at No. 1 almost a month after its release. The BEP and Cudi lovechild has almost-insured iTunes and radio success.

All this may actually come to pass on May 5th (my birthday by the way) when the Black Eyed Peas release their Invasion Of Boom Boom Pow EP. This EP is where this Zuper Blahq-produced, Kid Cudi remix comes from. The EP will also come packed with Boys Noize remixes featuring 50 Cent and Gucci Mane, and a David Guetta Remix. I have received my promo copy, and I like it.

Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow Remixes

Black Eyed Peas Boom Boom Pow Remixes mp3
Boom Boom Pow is dope. There, I said it. I may have knocked it down when I first heard it, but there is no other song that can make a club go crazy the way “Boom Boom Pow” can. My only beef with “Boom Boom Pow” is that I knew it would be difficult to remix. The Black Eyed Peas have already crafted a extremely dance-floor ready track and making a good “Boom Boom Pow” remix means you had to really switch shit up.

Even though it might be a challenge, I challenge DJs and remixers to remix “Boom Boom Pow,” because it’s the most fun song you will hear on the dance-floor this spring. So far, I’ve come across three “Boom Boom Pow” remixes I can get into bed with. Continue reading →

New Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow

New Black Eyed Peas Boom Boom Pow listen

Oh, I’m back everybody. :)

Black Eyed Peas – Boom Boom Pow

“Boom Boom Pow” sounds exactly like you think it would. It’s ridiculous, fun music delivered in a fashion only will.i.am, Fergie and the gang could. It looks like 2009 will be just as vocoder-filled as 2008 was. It’s sort of ironic how the BEPs are talkin’ about the future of music and dropping beats and effects that have been working since 2005. Let’s throw the question of originality out for a second (this is the Black Eyed Peas we’re talking about here…) and just enjoy the song. You know you like the beat they drop halfway into the song.
