More Chemical Brothers, Now With Spank Rock Capabilities

Spank Rock
The Chemical Brothers have been M.I.A. for the longest while — but they’ve been making the regular blogrounds with their Oasis remix and the overly-publicized and equally amazing Soulwax remix of “Hey Boy, Hey Girl.” But this joint here features a quite charming collaboration with the NME approved blipster Spank Rock. (Was included in that Hereos soundtrack… any album news?)

This is “Keep My Composure”. This is 100% PMA approved.

The Chemical Brothers – Hey Boy, Hey Girl (Soulwax Remix)

Chemical Brothers
It’s about time this Soulwax remix was okay-ed for blog posting. This is one of those rare remixes that no whatever where you are or who you are, this is going to get your body moving. Tackling a spectacular Chemical Brothers classic like “Hey Boy, Hey Girl” was a pretty tough feat for a DJ of any stature; Soulwax has done good on this one — not that it surprises me.

The mark that Soulwax have left on this track is monumental — the build up in the middle of this 7 minute opus is fascinatingly brilliant. I’m sure no one is even reading at this point. Just right-click and save link as…

New MP3s: Outkast, Raconteurs, Chemical Bros., Cut Copy

Outkast

“Royal Flush” is actually the first single off Big Boi’s new album Sir Lucious Left Foot, the track features verses spat by Andre 3000 and Raekwon.

Big Boi – Royal Flush MP3

Unfortuneatly, this song has nothing on the previous Big Boi-Andre 3000 track to surface on these interwebs. “The Art of Storytelling Pt. 4″ definitely shook things up and copped up what we’ve been accustomed to expect from Outkast. “Royal Flush” seems a little… lackluster, lukewarm… boring?

Outkast – The Art of Storytelling, Pt. 4 MP3

Here’s the first single from the new Raconteurs album, Consolers of the Lonely, which is being released on Tuesday via Warner Bros.

The Raconteurs – Salute Your Solution MP3

Next up is a new track from Cut Copy. This aussie band has been making some noise, especially with their buzzworthy first single “Lights and Music”, and “Far Away” should keep American fans happy until the April release date of their album In Ghost Colors.

Cut Copy – Far Away MP3

Thanks to Critical Acclaim for this next one. “Keep My Composure” is what happens when Chemical Brothers and Spank Rock work together. Only found in the Hereos Sountrack sold exclusively at Best Buy.

Mashups You Shouldn’t Live Without!

Mashups You Shouldnt Live Without! mp3

Well hello there my lovelies. I feel kind of blurgh getting out of bed today (though it’s well into the afternoon). Gotta love those lazy days. I need to down some Cinnamon Dolce Latte from down the street before I try to dent this massive paper I have due in oh, 3 hours.
Before I hit my responsibilities, I need some relax time. Out of habit, mostly, I automatically opened up iTunes. I was in the mood for some mashups. Here’s a collection of a few that will make your lives a lot more enjoyable.

Mixer master Icky lays it smooth with Ms. Alicia Keys, Biggie Smalls, Marvin Gaye, and to top it off our favorite beehive yielding whack-off, Amy Winehouse.

The next mashup is one of the best of the year, if not of this century. Parisian DJ Moule proves he deserves the status given to Mark Ronson, and Justice with his star-studded gem.

Listen to CSS vs Velvet Underground vs LCD Soundsystem vs Chemical Brothers – Can’t Stand Dance (YSI)

Is everyone ready for Alive 2007? It’s out in early December. In honor if Daft Punk’s nonstop sonic high, LA’s own DJ Shyboy mashes the duo up with pop’s biggest star, at the moment, Justin Timberlake. Woo hoo.

Listen to Daft Punk vs Justin Timberlake – What Goes Around The World (YSI)

To be honest, I haven’t seen or heard a better all-female mashup like the captivating track taken from Wax Audio’s Mashopolis collection.

Listen to Tori Amos vs Bjork vs PJ Harvey vs Massive Attack – Dissolved By The Water All These Years (YSI)

This next one gives me goosebumps! Such a perfect ambient cut ready for the creeping winter. Arty Fufkin gorgeously offers this tribute to France’s Air, with chilling vocals from the ever-surprising Lily Allen.

Listen to Air vs Lily Allen – All I Need’s A Smile (YSI)

To wrap things up, lets mix the indie rock sounds of PrettyMuchAmazing!’s band of the moment, Bloc Party with the scintillating Fergie. Bloc Party’s most vital track, “Banquet” is a mixer’s dream, it sounds heavenly with just about anything smeared over it, under it, beside it… you get it, right? It is most interesting to hear Fergie’s whiny ‘Fergalicious’ spread over Bloc Party’s undeniably catchy, edgy dance-riffs and slick drums. Courtesy of DJ Schmolli.

Fake Coachella 2008 Line-Up: Why Must They Mess With Us?!

So a flier’s been going around lately, the 2008 Coachella Line-Up. Thank-you Stereogum for clearing up the line. ITS FAKE! Quite a pitty, too, who wouldn’t love to see The Knife, Radiohead, David Bowie, My Bloody Valentine, PJ Harvey, Muse, Chemical Brothers, and Animal Collective on the same card? I think a few essential acts are missing from this fantasy line-up, though.

For one, where’s Justice, M.I.A., Sufjan, Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, DAFT PUNK?! Even some Nine Inch Nails action would be awesome.

So lets make this interesting, what artists would you add or boot out on this fantasy Coachella Line-Up?

MP3 | Arcade Fire – Burning Bridges, Breaking Hearts (live, unreleased)
MP3 | Sufjan Stevens – The 50 States Song (live)
MP3 | M.I.A.- What I Got
