Q&A Friday: Coachella. Giving Away Merriweather Post Pavilion on Vinyl.

Saw this at about 4am this morning. Was too tired to post it up then, so here you have it!

Q&A Friday: Coachella. Giving Away Merriweather Post Pavilion on Vinyl. giveaways

That is a fantastic lineup! I think I like it better than last year. Saturday is going to be AMAZING — Killers, Amy Winehouse, TV On The Radio, Fleet Foxes, MSTRKRFT! If I had to choose only one, that would be the day.

Do you guys have your tickets? I don’t. Wish me luck on nabbing 3-day passes before they sell out. What are your thoughts on the lineup? Everyone seems to be raving about it so far.

Anyway, so this week’s question is another easy one: Who are you most excited to see at Coachella (in person, or via AT&T’s Blue Room magic)? And if you’re feeling dirty: Do you not like the lineup? Who’s missing?

And this is the first time we don’t have a sponsor for a Q&A Friday. Big bummer [sad face]. Ok let me plug this real quick, so this doesn’t happen again:

Are you interested in promoting your new product or event in a way that engages thousands of young, savvy, music fans? Email me for more info!

Yeah, that’s how it works, guys. Oh but just because we don’t have a sponsor this time doesn’t mean I’m not giving anything away! I’m expecting a new vinyl order to come in today (it’s my new years resolution to collect as much vinyl as I can), and I’m going to have an extra copy of Merriweather Post Pavilion gathering dust, so I’m going to give it away here.

Q&A Friday: Is It Too Early To Talk About Music Festivals?

Q&A Friday: Is It Too Early To Talk About Music Festivals? mp3

So this week’s question is an easy one: Are you going to Coachella? Or are you saving your money for another festival? I also know that this passed year hasn’t been all too nice to anyone’s wallet. Hopefully I can help out.

This week’s Q&A is sponsored by the Lagerado Music Festival. They are being really cool and giving PMA Two (2) tickets to giveaway to one lucky winner. That’s right, you get to go to Langerado for FREE. All you have to do is get yourself there, get a hotel, buy your booz and drugs and enjoy the cool lineup (Death Cab For Cutie, Snoop Dogg, The Faint, Ryan Adams, Broken Social Scene, Cold War Kids, Chromeo, Girl Talk, Black Kids, The Virgins, Tokyo Police Club, Ra Ra Riot, ah, just check the whole lineup here), oh and you have to answer the question! They experimented with noise rock and electronica before settling on what David Marchese of Spin magazine calls “their current brand of shape-shifting psychedelic pop.” They graduated in 2005 and toured extensively in support of the Time To Pretend EP, opening for Of Montreal. In the fall of 2006, Steve Lillywhite signed MGMT to a six-figure, four album deal with Sony/Columbia Records. The duo recorded with Flaming Lips music producer Dave Fridmann in 2007 for their major label debut, Oracular Spectacular. MGMT, now a five-piece live touring band, opened for Of Montreal on tour in fall 2007. [wiki]

Radiohead/Portishead Confirmed for East/Coachella, If You Didn’t Know…

From URB:
Portishead is confirmed to headline this year’s Coachella festival on Saturday night, according to a high-level source. The same source unequivocally denied rumors that Radiohead would appear at Coachella, but did confirm that the group would play the East Coast festival being planned by Coachella promoters Goldenvoice/AEG Live . The full Coachella line-up will be announced this Monday.

LA Times’ Coachella Line-Up (So Far List…)

While going through my RSS Reader earlier today, this caught my eye. Here is the LA Times‘ list for confirmed Coachella players (so far). I am getting excited guys.

Death Cab for Cutie

The Breeders

Justice

Jens Lekman

Junkie XL

The Verve

UNKLE

Cold War Kids

Chromeo

Autolux

Spiritualized

Portishead

VHS or Beta

Dan Deacon

Brett Dennen

The Cinematic Orchestra

Battles

Kid Sister

Crystal Castles

Louis XIV

Next week, you can expect an announcement of the roster, which I was told cryptically might include a surprising veteran act or two (not David Bowie) — and will not include the rumored set by the reunited My Bloody Valentine. Meanwhile, message boards and blogs are bursting with names of the acts heading to Indio for the April 25-27, 2008 festival, but precious little information has leaked regarding headliners.

Coachella 2008 Line-Up: Round 2

Well here is the newest fake Coachella poster I’ve seen so far (refer to the one I pointed out WEEKS AGO). Well the source says it’s a “wishlist”, not to pretend to be a line-up per se, but here it is.
