When some anonymous tipster emailed the .zip file for Fall Out Boy’s new mixtape, Welcome To The New Administration, I almost didn’t want to open it. No, I’m lying I opened it in a second. This new mixtape acts as a progenitor to Fall Out Boy’s fourth album Folie A Deux (another 2008 release I’m really excited for — and I’m not ashamed to admit it!), which is set to hit shelves Election Day 2008 (November 4th, for you non-voters). Though the mixtape only includes 5 “demos” — that will undoubtedly make Folie A Deux — the FOB songs show promise. Standout tracks are Fall Out Boy’s “ALPHAdog And OMEGAman” and FOB’s collab with Gym Class Heroes frontman, Travis McCoy on “Catch Me If You Can/Proclamation Of Emancipation.”

Aside from Fall Out Boy demos/previews, the mixtape includes other Decaydance Records artists’ demos. My favorite of which is Cobra Starship’s homage to Katy Perry’s summer mega-hit with their “I Kissed A Boy.”
