Lil Wayne’s Dedication 3

Lil Waynes Dedication 3 listen In the midst of Kanye’s 808s and Heartbreak and Britney’s Circus leaking, Lil Wayne teamed up with the ironically named DJ Drama for Dedication 3. Never hearing the first two Dedications, I’m just assuming this is a big deal.

I don’t want to downplay the hype this obviously deserves, but I also don’t want to pretend like I know what I’m talking about. I was never really big on the whole mixtape thing. To me, mixtapes are just product of boredom, or a preface to an actual album. Knowing Lil Wayne (which I dont, but let’s move on), this mixtape is neither of those things. Knowing Lil Wayne, this mixtape is a piece of work that can stand up on its self and contend with the best of them.

I wasn’t going to feature Dedication 3 at all until I saw Pigeons and Planes feature some highlights. Before this I had given D3 a proper listen and gave it some personal props and then dropped it off in my recycling bin. But when I read the 5 songs PP suggested, I gave them another shot.

New Lil Wayne and Outkast

New Lil Wayne and Outkast mp3

When you put Lil Wayne and Juelz Santana together, the outcome is always staggering. The newly surfaced, “Stay Strapped” is no exception. This Weezy and Juelz collab will featured proudly on Big Mike’s and DJ Drama’s Soundtrack to the Streets 8. I am finding myself interested more and more by these DJ Mixtapes going around. I am secretly wetting my pants for Drama’s debut, Gangsta Grillz: The Album.

Also on DJ Drama’s exciting debut, Drama gets OutKast and Marsha Ambrosius on “The Art of Storytelling Pt. 4″. I have missed OutKast, but appearing on other people’s albums has kept me doing, somehow. “The Art of Storytelling Pt. 4″ doesn’t match up with their UGK collaboration “The International Players Anthem” (holy crap, one of the best songs of the year!), but having Ambrosius on the hook with Big Boi’s dizzying spins, this track han hold it’s one, without a doubt. Oh, by the way, OutKast is just about ready to drop an album, or atleast sometime before 2009, and it will be a double-album, similar to Speakerboxxx/The Love Below.
