I’ve been ignoring posting most remixes in favor of artists who demand more hype than they’ve been getting, and I will continue to do so, but I thought that now that it’s officially the weekend and that most of you are heading out to some party soon, you might want to grab a few of these. Now and then I like to mix up how I run things ’round here, Pretty Much Amazing. If you’ve been here for a few months, you may have caught the blog in a phase where I liked to mash one day’s worth of posts into one, extra-large post. I want to give that another crack.
Why? I guess you can say I’m not a huge fan of the monotonous life. This blog started out as a fun hobby, I’ll be damned before I let my hobby become monotonous.

I thought that “Nude” remix competition was long over? Anyway, some Anthony Rist emailed me last night with these three remixes. No text, just 3 uploaded mp3s. I almost didn’t download them. I’m glad I did, a couple of them are pretty great. The first remix I listened to was was the Dreamtrak Remix — this one may be to jingly and rave-esque for me. It sounds like the product of an amateur messing around with a trial version of some DJ software. The other two are much better. The Lost Memories In Trance Remix is much better (and a whole lot more dancable!) than the Dreamtrak remix. Though it still does hold that rave feeling. My favorite, though, was the last one. This No One Meets Nude Remix is as classy as they come. It doesn’t change the feel or the message of the song. It keeps Radiohead’s supple feel but adds some excellently placed instrumentals and extends the song a bit. This last remix is definitely something every Radiohead fan wants in their collection.
But I still think that Holy Fuck remix is the best “Nude” remix of all time.
I don’t know if this is a joke or not, but Radiohead announced that the name of their social networking site is W.A.S.T.E. Central. My guess is you can either waste your time, or all you’ll find in it is garbage.
Technically speaking, W.A.S.T.E. Central is your typical Social Networking site, like say Myspace or Facebook, with the “regular features of a social network – a main portal, members/fans own private spaces (profiles), blog and message board features and of course the most important ingredient of a true-blue social networking site, especially geared as a fan base -> facility to upload songs, photos and videos.” Says Rotorblog’s Zafra.
It would be unbelievably stupid for any non-Radiohead fan to join, but if they did, they won’t be missing out on anything any other network offers. But, for hardcore Radiohead fans, W.A.S.T.E., is Mecca. Not only will they get to create their own profile and establish their presence within the realm of the most important rock band on earth, but they get access to Radiohead-related clips, up-to-date band tour listings, and who knows later on, some good old’ Radiohead freebies; I’m thinking In Rainbows: The Sequel, no?

On a related note, Radiohead have just announced (via W.A.S.T.E., no doubt) Los Angeles (!!!) and San Fransisco dates (among other wonderful cities) to their slowly growing tour.
