Fred Falke: Blow My Speakers Up

Fred Falke: Blow My Speakers Up mp3How do you remix a nearly 10-minute epic journey in high-life pop? Remix master Fred Falke seems to think he knows how. Silly Fred. I don’t think I can honestly tell anyone that Falke’s remix of Music Go Music’s “Warm In The Shadows” improved upon the song or its dance appeal.

Music Go Music – Warm In The Shadows (Fred Falke Remix)

But it’s okay Freddie, we still heart you. More so than before because you jeopardized your cool indie cred and remixed our favorite party girl guilty pleasure dirty pop song of 2009.

Ke$ha – Tik Tok

Ke$ha Tik Tok listen
I am up this late (despite having to catch an early flight in the morning) only because this song is stuck in my head. When I listen to it to get it out of my head, I just want to listen to it more! Ke$ha isn’t bringing anything new to the table, per se, but I think her Katy Perry meets Lady GaGa meets Uffie ‘tude and tunes are a force to be reckoned with in the monde d’pop. “TiK ToK”* (yeah with the T’s and K’s capitalized), her debut single might just take over the world. I really wouldn’t mind one bit.

Buy it from iTunes

*formerly known as “P. Diddy”

823KEYPROJECT: A Community of Reverie

823KEYPROJECT: A Community of Reverie feature
Dear Pretty Much Amazing readers: A message from The Confluence. Read on for a remix goodie-bag.

Every now and then, out of pure frustration and exhaustion comes an idea that is unique and inspiring. I’d like to introduce you to the lovely 823KEYPROJECT. It is pretty simple, after giving a friend of his who was having a tough time a skeleton key necklace he made, offering the well known catch phrase, “when one door closes, another opens,” Trevor Hubbard thought everyone could use a key. 823KEYPROJECT launched two weeks later as a way for 823 people to purchase vintage, one of a kind, skeleton key neckpieces. To date, the 823keyproject has done nothing but spread the word to friends and watch it grow. 259 keys have been sold in 8 countries in just about 5 months.

The money goes into a fund and when the last key is sold, the fund is unlocked and up to $25,000 in grant money is available for artists to apply. Applying artists can be from any medium, discipline, background. This process will be repeated 26 times or as many letters there are in the alphabet. When Trevor began the project his goal was to bring together 823 people and the work of many enterprising artists of a common pulse, a thread that links the contribution and purchases of many to the creation of one vision for a better world and community through almost any medium or vision.

This is how it breaks down. Continue reading →

Kesha – P. Diddy

Kesha P. Diddy listen
That hot, hot voice we were all (embarrassingly) jamming to every time Flo-Rida’s “Right Round” came on is back with her latest, “P. Diddy.” A while ago, I posted Kesha’s “Boots and Boys” and I included and named my podcast after her “(Fuck Him) He’s A DJ” — I guess you can say that I’m a fan.

This new track, as has been pointed out more than once, sounds astonishingly Uffie-esque. I’m sure “P. Diddy” will find its place on your weekend playlist. Continue reading →

Kesha – Boots and Boys

Kesha Boots and Boys listen
Kesha was that little hottie that made Flo Rida’s “Right Round,” tolerable (and into a huge dancefloor hit). That was an introduction. But hot pop hooks isn’t all Kesha can do — she can really throw it down (sort of). Take “Boots and Boys” for example. The song is nothing short of 2009’s hottest electro-lezbo romp. The Tennessee-native and current Angelino is working with Dr. Luke and Max Martin on her debut album, which you can expect later this year.

Give “Boots and Boys” a listen. Does Lady GaGa have anything to worry about? Will her debut sound just like Britney’s Circus? Thanks for the tip Sheena.
