Kid Sister – Right Hand Hi

Kid Sister Right Hand Hi listen
After several push backs, we will finally get to listen to super-cute Kid Sister’s debut album, Ultraviolet (formerly, Dream Date). The album’s title isn’t the only thing that is different. Kid Sister felt she’d better rep Chi-town by ditching that horrid David Banner collab, “Family Reunion” as well as a couple other tracks and added 5 new tracks onto the working tracklist, including new single “Right Hand Hi.”

“Right Hand Hi” is a banger produced by Steve Angello & Sebastian Ingrosso, and sounds like it would have been right at home in the summer of 2007. By the looks of it, Kid Sister is moving deeper and deeper into house and it suits her.

Kid Sister – I’ll House You

Kid Sister Ill House You listen
Kid Sister x Reebok Promo Single = Best Kid Sister track you’ve never heard. Kid Sister covered the Jungle Brothers’ “I’ll House You” and the production is ridiculous. Thanking Hot Bizzies for the mp3s. Hey Beats, when are you going to let me buy you a .com?

Remix-A-Day: Britney Spears – If U Seek Amy (Crookers Remix)

Because we are focusing more on upcoming musical releases around here, new remixes get the short end of the PMA stick, sadly. I am determined to devote one post a day on new remixes, instead of bunching 10+ remixes in bulk. That has become somewhat tacky. Click here to read all of our Remix-A-Day remixes.

Remix A Day: Britney Spears If U Seek Amy (Crookers Remix) mp3Giving it up to Britney Spears’ label for getting some of the buzziest producers/DJs to remix her tracks! First she had Justice remix her collab with Madonna, “Me Against The Music,” and more recently, Villains and Diplo both remixed the hell out of “Circus.” Add Crookers to the list and their remix of Britney’s “If U Seek Amy.” To be honest, it’s sort of a hot mess. I think Stoney Roads puts it best: “I’m kinda digging it, think people have to remember its a fun track for fun people. Most Likely your drunk and off your face when you hear it and to be honest… it sounds like the best thing you have heard in your life!” Seriously, just wait till you hear it in da club.

The Starters – Girls ‘GO! Hard EP

The Starters Girls GO! Hard EP mp3

You guys remember the Starts DJs right? Yeah, you remember; they’re some of the freshest cool kids straight out of Chicago. Their debut EP Girls ‘GO Hard features Lykke Li, Kid Sister, Lady Sovereign, and Lady GaGa. I waited until today to post this one because I know a lot of you are looking for some cool party music for your Friday night.

Not only did they just drop a pretty slick EP, but they played with NASA on their Spirit of Apollo Tour on March 7th. That was, without a doubt, an amazing show. These guys know how to put the dancefloor on fire. Read on for the EPs track list, show dates and some downloads: Continue reading →

pmaCAST #3 – The “Best Remixes of 2008″ Episode

pmaCAST #2 (ft. Gnarls Barkley, Amy Winehouse, Arcade Fire, Coldplay, TV on the Radio, and more) mp3

Alright, a lot of you left comments and emails asking me to podcast this years Best Remixes list, so here you have it. This is probably the only time I will have an episode of the pmaCAST be 100% remix. I know you have to be in a certain mood to listen to a remix, so I tend to steer clear from those in podcasts. Whatever the case, let me know how/if you like your remixes on your podcasts.

Not much so say here, refer to my Best Remixes of 2008 list for more on why I chose the remixes that I did. Enjoy your almost-an-entire hour of pmaCAST. A less danceable podcast is to come in a few days. I’m already almost done with it.

New Kid Sister – “Family Reunion” / “Control”

New Kid Sister Family Reunion / Control listen

Guilty Pleasure Alert

Chi-Town native, Kid Sister is eagerly prepping the release of her debut album titled Dream Date. Two new songs off her Dream Date have, in fact, leaked. One of which is the official first single — “Family Reunion.” “Family Reunion” features an annoying David Banner (I seriously can’t stand that guy) but Kid Sister’s unparalleled skills at being amazing certainly saves the song.

“Control” is another mood-lifting track made unbelievably good by Kid Sister. Though she always does, Kid Sister reminds me of Lil Mama the most “Control” — though that isn’t necessarily a bad thing! Dream Date is rumored to see its release November 4th.
