Remixes on my mind
MGMT – Kids (Pet Shop Boys Synthpop Remix): Blows Soulwax’s remix out of the water. Seriously.
SebastiAn – Momy (Erol Alkan’s Simple, Yet Effective Edit): Simple, Yet Effective indeed.
Gorillaz – Dirty Harry (Disco Villains Remix): I haven’t some some sweet DV tracks in a while.
Late Of The Pier – Bathroom Gurgle (Tronik Youth Remix): Watch out for these guys next year.
DJ Mehdi – Pocket Piano (Chewy Chocolate Cookies Remix): I don’t show much love to Dh Mehdi or Chew Choco Cookies much. Hopefully this makes up for it a little.
Britney Spears – Circus (Junior Vasquez Remix Edit): I’ve decided that “Circus” is one of the best singles of 2008, oh and this remix isn’t bad either.
Gang Gang Dance – House Jam (Hot Chip Remix): I love Hot Chip and Gang Gang Dance is quickly getting on my good side. Match made in heaven.

Mixmag Presents: Soulwax / Part Of NYE Never Dies mp3

Mixmag and Soulwax teamed up for their January issue on a little disc called “Part of NYE Never Dies.” It’s a 14 track retrospect of some of the biggest tunes that the 2ManyDJs have been playing, remixing or just enjoying throughout 2008. It includes tracks and remixes from Tiga, Late of the Pier, MGMT, The Chemical Brothers, Mr Oizo, Zombie Nation and more.

Enough of the pleasantries. Let’s talk about NYE (New Years Eve for you slowpokes reading this) for a bit. Maybe I’m alone here, but I think it’s pretty overrated. It’s never as fun as its supposed to be, I guess. Basically Soulwax wants to make me believe that, through this mix, “Part” of my NYE will be, in fact, immortal. Now, I’ve never partied NYE Soulwax-style before, so here’s what I’m going to do: this NYE, I’m going to blast this fantastic mix all night long — or maybe I’ll throw in a few others I have downloaded this year — and see if NYE 2008/2009 is any better than the otrocious NYE I had almost 365 days ago.

Here’s a preview of what is to be expected from Boys Noize later on. Remixing “Focker” will definitely be massive, but I think I’ve heard better remixes– for example, this Phrenzy remix. I guess we will have to wait for the full Boys Noize cut. via The Lemur Blog via Hyperbole.

I’ve wanted to do a Pretty Much Amazing podcast for quite a while now, but I’ve wanted it to be different than all the other podcasts. So what’s a blog to do? Pretty Much Amazing hooked up with Just Jace — a SICK DJ from Omaha, NE to create Gotta Love The BPM. In a sense the PMA Podcast is more like a series of mini DJ sets.
