Fall Out Boy is a guilty pleasure. While their albums have gone from care-free punk (Take This To Your Grave), to pop-chart ditties (From Under the Cork Tree), and most recently, to groovy rock (Infinity On High), they have always maintained a consistent formula- excellent vocals from Patrick Stump, insanely catchy choruses and guitar riffs, and clever lyrics.

On Folie A Deux, FOB tries to keep the same formula, but strangely, it just doesn’t work as well. The hooks aren’t hooky. The catchy choruses aren’t too catchy. The clever lyrics aren’t that clever. Folie A Deux does have its strong, classic FOB moments, but too much of the album falls into repetitiveness.

New MP3s: The Roots and Fall Out Boy, Pete and Justice, Mariah Too

New MP3s: The Roots and Fall Out Boy, Pete and Justice, Mariah Too mp3
What a wonderful bend of color

1. The Roots ft. Patrick Stump – Birthday Girl DOWNLOAD | ALT
Alright, so it’s not really a Roots and Fall Out Boy collaboration, but close enough right? The only difference between Fall Out Boy and Patrick Stump inevitable solo career are the cheesy emo-esque lyrics. That said, don’t look at Patrick’s chorus vocals as a stigma. In fact, his soulful hankerings actually do the song good. The Roots can do no wrong in my eyes, I admit it.

2. Peter Moren – Social Competence DOWNLOAD | ALT
(Pete Mo, you like that don’t cha!) Well bend me over… its the guy that had us whistling for a large chunk of 2006/07 with ‘Young Folks’. Raise your hand if you’re not a Peter Bjorn & John fan. Exactly. Peter Moren’s solo album The Last Tycoon, from what I’ve heard off of it (4 or 5 tracks), is downright brilliant. I can’t wait till its drops 4/8. Or whenever it leaks… whatever.

3. Justice – DVNO (Tonics Jurkin’ edit) DOWNLOAD | ALT
Justice has a new single, new video, and *gasp* a new version of their dynamic monster ‘DVNO’. The changes are subtle in places and abrupt in others (circa 2:03), then after its a whole new party.

4. Mariah Carey ft. The-Dream – Touch My Body (Remix) DOWNLOAD | ALT
I almost didn’t post this… I am scared of Mariah, as any blogger should be. R.I.P. Kevipod. Lucky bastard Ali. But I sucked it up and decided it won’t be so bad if I let the world know the latest skankilicious jam freaking its way into my heart.
