What’s wrong with pop music? It’s more of a rhetorical question, I don’t need a shitfull of unhappy Pitchfork fan boys preaching about the evil, spawn of Satan that is Pop Music. This goes out to those same Pitchfork fan boys who are desperately trying to prove their indie cred. Take a breather, guys. You can actually turn up KIIS FM and not feel completely suicidal. Here are the 5 Pop Acts you are allowed to like without getting your ass kicked by the indie police.

Lily Allen on eMusic
You gotta love this bad ass Brit; in essence, she’s a likeable Lady Soveriegn. She’s so badass she’s beating out Chris Martin and Patrick Stump as Rap’s favorite Pop Hook, believe me, that’s bad ass. Stereogum loves Allen like no other, well second to the Arcade Fire.

Nelly Furtado on eMusic
There are few things in this world that can be recognized almost anywhere; you have coke, a woman’s breasts, and Nelly Furtado. Unless you and your stash of coke and porn have been hiding under a rock since the summer of 2006, you have, most likely, been graced my Nelly’s beauty and Timbaland’s stabbing deep-drum. Love and loathed,Nelly Furtado holds a unique groove and mellowness that when combined work amazingly well on the dance floor, and just as good on my iPod headphones.
