Lady GaGa – Paparazzi: Stuart Price & Yuksek Remixes

Lady GaGa Paparazzi: Stuart Price & Yuksek Remixes mp3
Last week Perez Hilton premiered GaGa’s crazy new video for “Paparazzi,” and two remixes by Stuart Price (aka Jacques lu Cont, Killers & Madonna producer) and Yuksek.

Stuart Price gives us a sound reminiscent of Madonna’s classic “Confessions on a Dance Floor.” This sound really work well with Lady GaGa. She might want to recruit Stuart Price for what better be the follow-up for the century, he will definitely find a way to keep it interesting. Yuksek’s remix is a bit more up my alley when it comes to remixes — lots of vamp, lots of cuts, and a penetrating, rolling drum that allows me to really sink my teeth into it. To be honest, if you ever wondered what a Lady GaGa and Justice collaboration would sound like, I would suspect it would sound a lot like Yuksek’s remix. Bravo!

Catch both remixes after the jump. Continue reading →

New Killers Album ‘Day And Age’ Jacques lu Cont-ified

New Killers Album Day And Age Jacques lu Cont ified listen
Currently, the Killers is finishing the album which is scheduled to be released in November 2008. Brandon Flowers has stated that there is no concept art for the fourth album yet. However, the band headed to the studio in June and the album is being produced by Stuart Price. Flowers also stated in an interview with Q that he was excited to play a new song called “Tidal Wave”, influenced by David Bowie’s “Drive-In Saturday” and “I Drove All Night” by Roy Orbison. The setlist of The Killers’ July 29 and August 1, 2008 show at New York City’s Highline Ballroom and Atlantic City’s Borgata Hotel and Spa contained two new songs: Spaceman and Neon Tiger. These songs were also played at The Killers’ show on July 31st at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Currently, the new album is stated to be titled Day and Age. In a recent NME magazine article dated August 19, 2008, Flowers commented on the progress of the album, stating the music was “97% done”, but the lyrics were only about “30% done”. New album is now officially set for a November 25 street date, according to an internal Island/Universal release schedule cited on DirectCurrentMusic.com. The first single from Day & Age will be “Human” and will be released September 22, 2008.

In addition to Day & Age, The Killers plan to release their third Christmas single – a collaboration with Elton John called “Joseph, Better You Than Me”. This song is not expected to be on the album Day & Age.

I’m a huge Killers fan. My undying love for them leads me to believe they are criminally underrated, judged harshly, yadda yadda yadda. So, naturally, I’m excited for the new album — but I’m extra excited because of Stuart Price’s (aka Jacques Lu Cont, Thin White Duke, etc) production credit on the album. You have to wonder what kind of aural magic awaits us this November. Will it sound like that “When You Were Young” Jacques Lu Cont remix? Or Maybe the dub? What about the Lindbergh Palace remix? Dub?

Hell, probably something else entirely.

Proving Electronic Music Makes You Happy (vol. 1)

Well I am completely convinced that Electronica creates a chemical imbalance in your brain, causing extreme happiness — a state of ecstasy even. This new series is closely related to my “Proving That Pop-Punk Makes You Happy” series, if you fail to see that, well frankly, you’re an idiot.

My mission here is to prove to you — via massive amounts of MP3s — that Electronica indeed makes you happy. Here are the first set of MP3s, many will follow before I rest my case.

Stuart Price aka Jacques lu Cont aka The Thin White Duke aka Paper Faces aka Man With Guitar

Stuart Price aka Jacques lu Cont aka The Thin White Duke aka Paper Faces aka Man With Guitar mp3Stuart Price (aka Jacques lu Cont, aka The Thin White Duke, aka Paper Faces, aka Man With Guitar) is the epitome of Electronica (well a close tie with Daftr Punk — at least) and a genius. As an amazing producer (Madonna’s Confessions On A Dance Floor) and DJ, Stuart Price has the uncanny ability to churn out amazing remixes of any song he lays fingers on. It really does not matter what genre of song it comes from, give it to Stuart and it becomes eargasmic perfection. Sample his stunning remixes of The Killer’s Mr.Brightside, Coldplay’s Talk, Gwen Stefani’s What Are You Waiting For?, and Depeche Mode’s A Pain That I’m Used To.

It’s not just that Stuart Price’s work is a summons to the dancefloor — which it is, he does it with so much style, it sets him apart. Price has an amazing ear and eye for what make makes his remixes trippy. He struts with unique and universal sounds that have made him famous world wide. Too bad electronica is so obscure in America. Maybe some Stuart Price production should jump into Top 40 Radio — take that Timbaland.

Seal Loves Pretty Much Amazing.

Seal Loves Pretty Much Amazing. mp3So Seal has the nutblowing genius Stuart Price on production on his album.

Thanks to the one and only Pop-effing-Justice for giving us a radio rip of Seal’s new single titled — “Amazing”. I feel so special that an established singer like Seal has chosen the song dedicated to PMA to be his massive, brilliant, and glorious comeback single. Take that Britney.

I love this song for many reasons:

1. Amazing is one of my favorite words. That “amazing amazing amazing” bit reminds me a lot of what goes through my head most of the time.

2. Its 3pm on Hump Day and I’m at Starbucks sipping a latte and I feel like hitting up Element.

3. Its friggen SEAL, Bitch.

4. mp3: Seal – Amazing [RADIO EDIT] *DOWNLOAD OR DIE*

The album (all produced by Stuart) is out on November 12.
